A safe space to talk, listen and remember

Tulips Peer Bereavement Support Group in Felixstowe provides a warm, friendly and understanding space for people coping with the loss of someone they love. We know that grief is different for everyone and that there is no right or wrong way to feel. Sometimes you may need to talk, sometimes you may simply want to listen, and sometimes a cup of tea, a biscuit and the company of someone who understands can make all the difference.

You don’t have to grieve alone

Although there are many sources of information, advice and support available online, there is something special about sitting alongside another person and being able to share how you are feeling face to face. Tulips brings people together in a relaxed and supportive environment where experiences can be shared without judgement. Working alongside a trained counsellor, sessions include group discussion and creative activities such as art therapy, helping people explore their feelings and find ways to cope with the challenges of grief.

Come when you feel you need to

Grief can change from one month to the next. There may be times when you feel you need the support of the group, while at other times you may feel that you are managing well. There is no pressure to attend every session – you can decide how often you would like to come along. We would love to see you each month, but we also understand that sometimes you may feel stronger simply knowing that the group is there when you need it. And by coming along, you may also be able to offer comfort and encouragement to someone else who is having a difficult time.

Finding a way forward

After someone we love dies, it can sometimes feel strange or even wrong to laugh, enjoy ourselves or have happy moments. Feelings of guilt can be a natural part of grief, but they do not mean that you are forgetting the person you have lost. Tulips offers a supportive space to talk about these feelings and, in time, find ways to enjoy life again while continuing to remember and celebrate the person who is no longer with you. It is about finding your own way forward, while keeping their memory and the experiences you shared together close to your heart.
