New Website Launched
We’re delighted to announce the launch of the new website for Felixstowe Opportunity Group (FOG), created and developed by local web designer Nick Claydon of Unicorn Designers.
The new website has been designed to provide a welcoming, easy-to-use online home for FOG and to make it easier for local families, individuals, carers, supporters and members of the community to find out about the work we do.
A home for everything FOG
Felixstowe Opportunity Group has been supporting the local community since the early 1990s, when a group of local mums came together to create a safe and welcoming space for children with additional needs. Today, FOG has grown into much more than a playgroup, with a range of inclusive projects supporting children, families and individuals throughout the community. The new website brings all of this information together in one place. Visitors can find out more about the history of FOG, our aims and values, the different projects we run and the ways they can get involved or access support.
Discover Little Foggies
One of the main features of the new website is Little Foggies Playgroup, our inclusive playgroup for children under seven. Little Foggies provides a safe and friendly environment where children of all abilities can play, learn and develop together. Parents and carers can also find out more about our Sensory Room, which provides a calm environment where children can explore their senses, relax and engage in activities at their own pace.
Roses – Growing together
The new site also highlights Roses Community Gardening Group, which uses gardening and the outdoors to help people connect, build confidence and improve their wellbeing. Roses provides a welcoming space where people can spend time outdoors, take part in gardening, meet others or simply enjoy a cup of tea and a chat. It is particularly valuable for people who may be experiencing isolation or difficult circumstances, providing an opportunity to feel connected and part of the local community.
Tulips – Support through bereavement
Another important part of FOG’s work is Tulips Peer Bereavement Support Group. Tulips provides a relaxed and understanding environment for people coping with the loss of a loved one. The group combines peer support, group discussion and creative activities, working alongside a trained counsellor to help people explore their feelings and find ways of moving forward.
Latest News and Information
The new website also includes a dedicated News section, allowing FOG to share the latest updates, activities, events, fundraising news and stories from across the organisation. This means that families and supporters can keep up to date with what’s happening at FOG, while new visitors can get a better feel for the people, activities and community behind the organisation. We’ll be adding new articles and updates regularly, so be sure to check back for the latest news from Felixstowe Opportunity Group.
Supporting an Inclusive Community
At the heart of FOG is a simple belief: everyone should have somewhere they feel welcome, included and supported. Whether it’s helping a child develop confidence through play, providing a peaceful place to spend time in the garden, or offering support to someone coping with bereavement, our projects aim to make a positive difference to people’s lives. The new website makes it easier to discover what we do, find the support that might be right for you and learn how you can become involved with FOG.
Designed and Developed by Unicorn Designers
The new Felixstowe Opportunity Group website was designed and developed by Nick Claydon of Unicorn Designers, a local web design and development company based in Felixstowe. Unicorn Designers has been designing and developing websites for businesses, organisations and charities since 1997, with experience across WordPress, bespoke websites, SEO, content and ongoing website support. Nick worked closely with FOG to create a website that reflects the friendly and inclusive nature of the organisation while making the information straightforward for visitors to find.
